Sizing

We make our shoes in whole EU sizing (please note it is the standard EU sizing, not French EU which is different). We do not make half sizes sorry.

Most of our shoes run slightly larger than most mainstream fast fashion brands.

Look at our Size Guide to cross check your normal size with our chart. In general, you can take your normal EU size (for French EU, please take one size down because French EU runs one size smaller than standard EU).

We recommend also checking your foot length against our chart for a second point of cross checking.

Our shoes are made with a round toebox that accommodates wide feet quite comfortably. Only size up if you are a half size.

While our shoes are not made specifically for orthopaedic use, we have had many customers share their experiences with us about their foot conditions and how our shoes have successfully helped them to feel confident and comfortable. The most common conditions that those customers had were:

While we cannot promise that our shoes will work for you as well, we have structured them in a way to be a bit more forgiving than normal vintage shoes.

Usually about 8-15 business days from dispatch to arrive for most regions. Please note more remote/rural areas will require more time. Please also allow an extra 1 or 2 weeks for delivery during the Black Friday/Christmas period

For those living in Canada, South America and Africa the local customs office may charge a small duties and tax fee on international parcels. You will be required to pay them directly to your local courier or customs office before your parcel is released for delivery. Any parcels returned to us due to refusal to pay the fee may incur a restocking and return postage fee of $20 USD.

For some countries in Europe, we have acquired shipping lines that will exempt you from these fees, meaning you will not be required to pay any customs duties/VAT. European countries we ship to duty/VAT free:

To cut our cardboard waste by more than 45%, we designed a durable shoebox that acts as a shipping carton so there is no excess use of cardboard. If you order 1 pair of shoes, it will be shipped by itself with no extra box to contain it, meaning it will have some tape and postage labels on it.

If you have ordered 1 pair of shoes as a gift or want to keep the shoebox in new condition to keep, you may request to have it shipped in an extra carton to protect it from postage labels. Please just add a note in the notes section in your cart.

Tracking information is dependent on the parcel going through scanned facilities. If your parcel has not moved in a few days, please allow some time as this usually means it is in transit and has not yet reached its next scanning point. We will contact you if we notice anything unusual with your parcel's progress.

We will contact you with the local courier contact information. Please contact them ASAP and ask them for a redelivery of your parcel. Any goods not received due to late collection will only be resent upon the repayment of $10 USD postage.

Yes, we can ship to PO boxes however the delivery time is slightly slower due to the courier that we must use that allows for PO box deliveries.

We do not recommend PO boxes for deliveries to Europe, as the shipping line for PO boxes does not allow us to cover duty/VAT for you.

  1. Please first check the premises around your delivery location, as well as with your neighbours, friends/family who live with you and mailroom/reception if applicable
  2. If it's definitely nowhere to be found, contact us at hello@charliestoneshoes.com and we will ask for a proof of delivery from the courier
  3. If we determine together that it is definitely lost, we will resend a new parcel free of postage charge

Returns

For items purchased full price, you may return it for a refund, exchange or store credit.

For items purchased on sale, you may only return it for an exchange or store credit.

Please remember:

  • Try on a clean carpeted surface in case exchange is required - any shoes returned with marks on the soles or upper will incur a 30 USD damage fee
  • Return requests must be submitted within 14 days of receiving the parcel and in original condition with original dustbag and shoebox
  • Any goods not received due to late collection or unpaid customs taxes will only be resent upon the repayment of $10 USD postage

  2. After completing the form, you will receive instructions for returning your parcel to us. We accept returns to Australia and Singapore, and the location selected is based on your location. You will be responsible for paying the postage to return your item to us. If you are getting an exchange item, we will ship that to you free of postage charge.

Particularly common with USPS, your return will likely require you to fill out an international postage form which may include some information for customs.

If you received the wrong item, please contact us at hello@charliestoneshoes.com and we will organise the correct replacement to be sent.

For goods with very minor defects, we can compensate you for the repair of the defect. If you have a damaged or faulty pair, please email us at hello@charliestoneshoes.com with photos and a description of the issue.

When you send back your return, ensure you get a tracking number and submit it here so we can monitor its journey back to us.

Once it has arrived back, we will inspect it and then process your refund, store credit or exchange as requested and you will receive an email to confirm this.

Refunds are made to your original payment method - refunds to credit cards take 3-5 business days to process, while refunds to Paypal take 24 hours.

The Shoes

Most of our shoes are made with genuine leather, so like all leather shoes they will require time to soften and wear in.

We recommend taking time to wear them in at home before wearing them for extended periods of time out. Our favourite method is by wearing the shoes with thick socks then running a hot hairdryer over the shoes, focusing particularly on the areas that you need to be softer or slightly larger.

Yes, after some time both our leather and non-leather shoes will stretch (though leather will stretch a bit more).

We recommend using thick socks and a hairdryer to speed up the process and get the exact stretch you need. Through testing and own personal wear, we have stretched shoes half a size larger using this method.

  • Non-leather: Wipe with a damp cloth to remove dirt. For tougher stains, use mild soap and water, then air dry away from direct heat. Avoid harsh chemicals that could damage the material.
  • Leather: Clean with a leather cleaner and soft cloth. Regularly apply a leather conditioner to keep them soft and prevent cracking. Always let them dry naturally.
  • Storage: Store shoes in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight. To prevent moisture buildup and mold, use silica gel packs or moisture-absorbing sachets inside. You can also use shoe trees or stuff them with paper to help maintain their shape. Avoid damp or humid areas.

Most of our shoes are made with leather, however some of our designs have been made with non-leather materials to cater for our vegan friends.

The current vegan-friendly materials that we use include recycled PU and microfiber textile, and we are looking into plant-based options for the future.

No - while we originally started out in 2013 with the idea of making flats for dancers, we eventually evolved by 2014 to focus on creating vintage flats for everyone and anyone who just wanted an elegant vintage look without the heel!

However we do understand many people still use our shoes to this day for dancing, and for that we thank you for keeping our shoes out there on the dancefloor where our first love began.

We manufacture with a small boutique factory in China that specialises in small volume high quality productions for the vintage community. We love working with them because they operate ethically with above-average wages and quality working environment for their workers, and are constantly innovating with their suppliers to improve their carbon footprint.
